Performance with Jack was poor. In recent years I have become more demanding in that regard, so I started looking at the code. I tried to work with the official project team, but it was impossible. We have very different and somewhat incompatible design, development and performance philosophies.
And so Yoshimi came into being, as a unique Linux derivative of ZynAddSubFX. Yoshi tries to do everything the original Zyn does, but get it right on Linux. Several people have put in the time and energy to bring Yoshimi to life (and keep it that way!). I thank you all.
